So, lockdown for me has meant I haven’t been able to do my usual day to day work. My main work is in schools as a Relax Kids coach. However as soon as schools closed that was pretty much it for me. I did a few sessions via Zoom which was great and I’m sure I’ll do more in the coming months.

I decided it was time to do something a little different with the extra time on my hands. It started with me designing ‘My Ideas Notebook‘ , ‘My Gratitude Journal‘ and ‘Diary and Doodles‘ which I’ve already had published on Amazon. The kids diary (Diary and Doodles) is also available as a printable pdf download on my website.

I thought it would be great to produce a book for children. I figured out doing something not too dissimilar to what I already do would be a wise move. That’s pretty much why we now have Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee.

Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee are characters based on my children. At the time of writing Jasmine (10) and Phoebe (7) became Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee.

My first book introduces children to the characters, Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee. In the book Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee teach around 10 different yoga poses. They also teach breathing/mindful exercises and we finish with a relaxation by Phoebe Bee.

My second book builds on those yoga postures and make them a little more challenging. The book also introduces new yoga postures and other breathing and mindful exercises.

Then the intention is to move on to actual stories featuring Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee.

Because I’m terribly impatient I wanted to get something out with before my actual book was ready and I’ve designed 2 notebooks for children. One is a lined notebook with Phoebe Bee on the front cover and the second is a notebook with both Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee on the cover.

I’m really excited to see where this journey takes me and if nothing else it will be fun to have a couple of books that I have created for my children.

I can’t take credit for the illustrations as while they were very much in my mind from the outset there is no way I could have designed them!! So I had to get my character ideas across to the illustrator so that I could be sure I would be happy with them.

I’ve had the most amazing feedback so far……
