Smart Hula Hooping: A Fun and Effective Way to Exercise

Hula hooping may seem like a simple childhood pastime, but it can actually be a highly effective form of exercise. In fact, hula hooping is a full-body workout. It can help you burn calories, improve your coordination and balance, and strengthen your core muscles. Plus, it’s fun and easy to do!

Smart Hula Hoops are a bit different to traditional hula hoops

One of the key benefits of hula hooping is that it’s a low-impact form of exercise. This means that it puts minimal strain on your joints. It’s a good option for people who aren’t able to participate in high-impact activities such as running, skipping or circuits.  Hula hooping is also a great way to boost your heart rate and your cardiovascular health.

To get started with smart hula hooping, you’ll need to purchase a hoop.  Amazon have a huge selection at pretty reasonable prices and the one I recommend (and have been using for over 5 months at the date of writing this blog) is this one (click here).

I also have negotiated a discount with a hoop supplier to get the very same hoop at a discounted price so if you want to check this out then click here and pop KAZAAR10 in the coupon code box to get a discount. Just make sure you compare between Amazon and this link before purchasing so that you get the best price.

Once your hoop arrives, it’s time to start hooping! Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your hula hooping workout:

  • Warm up before you start – It’s important to warm up your muscles before you start hooping. You can do this by doing a few stretches or by walking around for a few minutes.
  • Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart – When you’re ready to start hooping, stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and place the hoop around your waist (tip: make sure it’s secure as you don’t want the weight flying off!)
  • Use your hips to move the hoop – To keep the hoop moving, use your hips to make the weight go round. You can also use your chest, arms, and legs to move the hoop, but your hips are the key to keeping it going.
  • Don’t worry about perfection – Hula hooping really does takes practice, so don’t worry if you have a hard time keeping the hoop going at first. Keep trying, and you’ll get better with time.
  • Incorporate other moves – Once you have the basic hula hooping down, you can start incorporating other moves into your routine. For example, you can try hooping while gentle jogging on the spot or maybe incorporate weights into your routine.

Hula hooping is a fun and effective way to exercise, and it’s a great option for people of all ages and fitness levels. So grab a hoop and give it a try!  And do pop over to my group Hooping Awesome to get some support, inspiration, motivation and above all ….. have some FUN!
