Have you ever wanted to self publish?

It has always been a dream of mine to write a book! That dream came true last year when, during lockdown #1 I had the time and headspace to put pen to paper!

I was always put off actually doing this because of the cost of going to a professional publishing company. Years ago I designed and wrote a children’s cookery book but didn’t do anything with it. This was because I was quoted in the region of £5k to get it out there. Back then an amount I wasn’t willing to part with just to have my name in print!

Then in lockdown I had space to research, time to learn and started the ball rolling. There was an awful lot to learn! Fonts, pictures, bleed to name a few! Did you know that you can’t just use any old font in your book? I didn’t and since I’ve self published I realised that lots of people didn’t know this!

Self publishing your own book

My first book – Yasmine Yogi and Phoebe Bee is all about supporting children’s mental health and wellbeing. You can check it out here.

After spending all this time learning I decided I wanted to teach others to do the same but not to charge them a lot of money simply because we don’t know where we’re going with this! I can’t guarantee anyone will make any sales but I’m happy to guide people through the process so you can do this quicker and easier than I did!
