So, a very good friend came for (a socially distanced) lunch on Friday and it was so lovely to catch up with someone I’ve not seen in ages. So lovely to have some different adult company!!
My friend told me that she had bought my book. I already knew that as she had posted a fabulous review Amazon. My friend doesn’t have children but wanted to support me which is awesome in itself!
She then went on to tell me how she had been using one of the breathing exercises in her work!! My friend is a tube driver. A stressful job at the best of times and I know things have been pretty stressful for her recently. She mentioned that on one of her shifts she was having a particularly stressful time and feeling quite anxious so she thought back to my book and remembered the triangle breathing exercise. She did it. It helped!
And having used the exercise once it’s likely that she will use it again in her moment of need. I love that my book can not only support children.
In case you don’t know what triangle breathing is …..
Tracing a triangle on the palm or back of your hand and breathing in as you trace the first side up, holding your breathe for a short time as you trace the second side and breathing out as you finish the triangle. I’ve suggested breathing in, holding, and breathing out for the count of one but you might try 2, or 3. Listen to your body. Do what feels right!
Let me know how you get on. And check out my books here.
