Here are a few tips for getting the best from this book:
★Choose a quiet time and choose a quiet space. Bedtime is a great time.
★Gather any props you may need – blanket, cushion, favourite teddy bear.
★Encourage your child/ren to find a comfortable position, whether that’s sitting or lying.
Children will love hearing these positive relaxation messages and they will no doubt be helpful for when you want to bring peace and calm into their day.
You may wish to record the stories to play during those times that you might not be able to read to them.
Each relaxation message has a special message.
There is consistency across the stories, which will help your child become used to relaxation. It will also help them relax a little more when they are familiar with the structure of the story.
When writing this book my intention was that you read one story per evening although of course if children want to hear more than one that is fine but I wanted to highlight this because of the repetition of the positive relaxation messages. As mentioned above this is totally intended as you may notice that children will relax a little more as they become used to the structure.
Included in this book is a BONUS relaxation with gaps for the reader to complete. Use this relaxation to personalise a message for your child.
FEEDBACK SO FAR:
“I love the book. I love the message that it sends and that it gets us saying to our children what we really want to say but don’t always say in a clear way. Just beautiful. I love the intro and the girls actually enjoyed laying their heads on my lap instead of cuddling up which was nice. I love the detail in what is being explained to our children, the message that it sends them is so good for all of us and they both gave me a huge hug afterwards.”

“I love the idea of using relaxations to reinforce the positive bond between parent/carer and their young children, what a lovely message to have in your head as you go to sleep.”

“Your relaxation stories were a lovely conclusion to chatting through the day before saying goodnight. It’s lovely you have created a variety of different positive messages available to share so that we can select the most appropriate messages/feeling to be reinforced that day. The section on relaxing your body was very effective and the repetition and consistency throughout the stories was helpful. Alice said that your relaxation stories had made her feel very relaxed, calm and safe and happy and they had stopped the butterflies flapping.”

“We loved the meditations. A perfect way to enable children to relax, be calm and take a moment. I love the positive message with each one. It’s so important to pause, relax and create a space for positivity. Benny said he scores it 10/10 because it made him feel relaxed and he liked the repetition.”
